Strange
Development is announcing the release of its ground-breaking strut tower brace
for the 05 and 06 Mustang GT*. The engineers at Strange Development were
originally tasked with developing light weight bracing that could hold up to the
stresses found at every track. The Strange Development strut tower brace
provides the same rigidity as traditional steel bracing but is 65% lighter,
maximizing benefits.
Strange Development, a
performance automotive research and development company, is a Michigan based
company dedicated to bringing innovative components to the market. We are
planning to release our strut tower brace for the Ford Mustang GT coupe and
convertible by mid April, 2006. We are currently developing other suspension
components, including a strut tower brace utilizing the same technology but made
specifically for the V6 model Mustang. We can’t let the GT owners have all the
fun!
The handling benefits of strut
tower braces are enormous, and until now the additional performance was worth
the additional weight. Mustang enthusiasts no longer have to compromise! Our
engineers developed a strut tower brace made from an aircraft aluminum alloy
that makes your chassis stiff without adding unneeded weight. Our strut tower
brace is three times lighter than a conventional brace weighing in at 1.6lbs
(26.3oz).
The
Strange Development strut tower brace’s end brackets are billet, CNC machined,
providing high load transferring capabilities. The center tube was designed from
seamless tubing bent with a large radius to avoid stress concentrations. The
engineers at Strange Development utilized complex computer models as well as
real world testing to develop this innovative strut tower brace.
Bracing significantly increases
vehicle handling characteristics by increasing chassis stiffness. Adding
additional weight above the vehicle's current center of gravity (CG) will raise
the vehicle's CG, adversely affecting its handling characteristics. The Strange
Development engineers found that by minimizing weight, the maximum handling
gains could be achieved.
We at Strange Development are
looking forward to introducing this lightweight strut tower brace and many more
innovative products in the future.
